2 Days in Montreal: Places to Visit

I was only in Montreal for 2 days, which is super quick. So I decided to visit places that were fairly close to my hotel, which is The Fairmont Le Reine Elizabeth locates downtown. Below are the places I decided to check out

Basilique Marie Reine

This gorgeous church is across the street from The Fairmont. I would take some time to look at the facade. There is quite a bit of detail and you don’t want to miss out.

The interior is stunning! What I love about it is the approachability of this structure. It is beautiful, but I still feel like I can have a quiet moment of worship there.

Notre Dame Cathedral

Yes, this does exist and it’s not the one in Paris. It is certainly not less impressive. It is wonderful that you can just sit and enjoy the outside architecture. There is a wonderful area that you can just take in the afternoon sunshine.

The inside of the Notre Dame is quite magical and grand. Catholic cathedrals never cease to impress me. I loved slowly going through the space, sitting on the pews and taking it all in, and just being amazed at the sheer grandeur of it all. Take a minute to closely look at the paintings and statues as well.

Walking Old Towne Montreal

There’s nothing like taking in a new destination than simply walking. I really enjoyed waking around Old Towne. It is like taking in a simpler world with no cares. I loved the old French feel as if I was transported back in time. Yet, there were parts that were so relevant and modern as well. My suggestion is that you sit and enjoy the food, watch some street performers, and simply relax!

When you only have such a short visit, these are the places that I found can give you a good glimpse of Montreal.
